Such irony, he is sentimental about the record playing when he met his wife — in the past but right in that moment he is completely clueless as to what is going on and how he is being so hurtful and actually abusive to her. He’s so caught up in his “things” and their meaning to him, he isn’t present to the “thing” that truly has to be MOST meaningful to him, which is her. I’d say his priorities are way off.
